Usually in lake placid blue. But I've bought 6-7 other deals. I miss those. $749 Wolfgang special quilt was my last one.

I should've gotten a Franken strat when those where around. I have a quilted EVH Special that's fun that I got from them. Took 3 to get a minimally acceptable one.

Oh yes. I got the surf green matte EVH Special, EVH Striped, Charvel PJ Bass, American Acoustasonic JM, and of course a ton of camera lenses over the years...lol. I did have to swap a Striped out. Wouldn't hold tune. Second one wouldn't either but I figured out the locking nut bolt was a fraction of a mm too long. Backed it out and it has been perfect since.

But yeah....the relic Frankie I shoulda grabbed. Not even a Van Halen fan but I do love those guitars.

Not a great deal especially if this being sold by GC aka Musicians Friend. You are more than likely getting a used floor model guitar that was sitting in the store since it arrived. Being used by customers. So dont expect a NIB guitar.

This can happen anywhere really. I have bought 3 new guitars from musicians friend and they were all new in box. Bought 2 from empire music, smaller Pittsburgh based guitar shop, and one was a floor model but advertised as new. It reminds me of when I was bud tending. People would want the prettiest buds. And I'd say "I buy them to smoke them, not store them in a display case". Guitars are the same. I buy them to play them. After noticing some signs of use on the empires strat, nothing major, I moved on and played it. Put my own wear on top. I buy them to play them. Just slightly annoyed it wasnt listed as a floor model.
