Well, our 7 cuft Hisense stopped working recently and we need a replacement. This 5 cuft is a tad smaller but the price seems right. Should prob get the 3 year allstate warranty on it. Only 2 day return window? That seems odd?

Why is it 50/50 if it arrives damaged and what is the recourse if it does? I can't fit it in my car to return it.

Probably tipped over in shipping and messes with the coolant in the compressor. You're supposed to let it sit for hours upright before powering it on for the first time.

The deep freezer we purchased from Walmart came with gouges on 2 sides. While the gouges look deep neither affect it's performance nor insulation. It's in the garage so not worried about how it looks. Works great for our needs.

I think the odds are worse. More like 80-90% it will come damaged but it really depends on 'how badly' it's damaged. Usually comes FedEx but I've had dedicated freight companies deliver for Walmart. Very often damaged

What is the recourse if damaged? I opted for delivery as I don't have a truck to carry this to/from the store in.

I always let any freezer or refrigerator we buy sit for three days upright before ever plugging them in to let the freon settle.

I was going to say that. All these freezers are just cheap rebrands, anyway. I wish I had gotten that black Frigidaire from Costco for $180, but I'm fine getting this from Lowe's. They'll ship it to the store, too. Someone might prefer shipping to their house, but I work nextdoor to a Lowe's.

I jumped on this (the Midea 7 cuft model) as well but shipping to my door is an extra $79. Will find a friend with a truck to help me get it home. Also says it won't be avail for pickup till early Aug.

When was the Costco deal? I recently asked at the costco desk about chest freezers and nothing came up.

I saw it here the end of June with like 12 in stock, but when I picked up my washer July 3rd, they were out. Only the 2.1 cuft for $120.

I bought the previous model of the Frigidaire 5.0 cu ft freezer that didn't do the refrigerator temperatures, about 2 years ago. Bought from Walmart. Received in perfect condition and still working fine. I think the model I got was $159 at that time.

Mine came in with a couple of dings, complained to walmart and they asked me to take it to the store for a refund. lol
