Cyberpunk 2077 is a story rich open world RPG shooter that shines most for its Night City atmosphere, strong lore, and Phantom Liberty expansion. The Ultimate Edition gets the most praise, with Dogtown and the DLC arc described as taking the game to another level through branching choices, immersive cutscenes, and a memorable ending path. Mod support also adds visual upgrades and extra story or gameplay tweaks. The main caveat is that combat and missions can feel repetitive or tedious over time, and the base story does not land for everyone. A solid pick if the genre and expansion appeal to you.

  • Players who want a story-rich open-world RPG, because the world, lore, multiple endings, and choice-driven quests keep the experience immersive.

  • Explorers who enjoy side quests and collectibles, because the game rewards crawling every corner and offers deep build customization and combat.

  • Fans of cinematic single-player campaigns, because the cutscenes feel movie-like and Phantom Liberty adds a branching, high-stakes storyline.

  • Players who want a long campaign with extra content, because the base game plus Phantom Liberty can hold hundreds of hours and still leave more to do.

  • Players who need a combat loop that stays fresh, because the gameplay can become tedious and repetitive after the main quests.

  • Players who dislike slow mission pacing, because the missions can feel tedious and the game may not click even after a second try.

  • Gamers who want to stay hooked quickly, because the game can fail to grab attention and may feel like a time sink.

  • FPS players who want straightforward gunplay, because the combat loop may not connect and melee builds can feel hard to figure out.

same here. The graphics and the world is amazing but i never connected to the combat loop, but maybe thats because im not a FPS guy, and never figured out the melee combat build... and story imo sucks. quite mediocre
same can be said about rdr2. Terrible story, terrible game, but everyone praises it which in turn turns people away from gaming when they play such games.

I think I may be the only person that didn't like this game. I found it tedious and not enjoyable at all.
I couldn't get into this game, the graphics are cartoonish and the missions are tedious. I will give it another try.

I very much enjoyed this game. Coming from a COD and BF player over the past 10 years. I clocked in about 300 hours on cyberpunk + Phantom liberty. Story is very good if you like story rich and choice matters games.

There's mods for the gfx. The "realistic" gfx mod videos on yt look pretty good.

Hmm I wonder if picking up on the PC is worth it. I have it on the XSX. Finished the main game but just never got around to the PL expansion.

My PC is running 270K + 9060XT.

When I do get back into it, wonder which version would be more enjoyable.

It hits on so many levels and opens the door for a new genre; from city design and architecture, interwoven stories and lore with multiple endings based on choices... even the cut scenes were immersive enough to make you feel like you're watching a movie. The Phantom Liberty arc is pretty amazing and Dogtown almost makes it feel like they could just keep this "boomerang" format going for awhile if they wanted to expand into more DLCs (CDPR claims they won't but we'll see if there's an EdgeRunners season 2 suprise in store for the game). It isn't the same type of "masterpiece" as Red Dead 2 or the Last of Us but it definitely set a bar after CDPRs miraculous comeback from an absolutely horrific release.

This is one of the few games worth the $33. Oddly enough I couldn't get into the Witcher for the life of me (or Baldur's Gate/Elden Ring), but I'm gonna give it another go to see if I can get into that genre and move on to Skyrim before GTA6 drops.
lol "a new genre"

Same here, tried twice but never get into Witch 3. Same as Red Dead Redeption, although everyone appraising them.

I've tried to play this game twice. Around the 20 hour mark I called it quits. Just didn't hook me and seemed like a time sink.
aren't most games, lol. If you go to the map, you ca turn off the side quests and NCPD police scanner missions which will help you with a more streamlined storyline. Here's a link that will guide you through it so you can stay engaged and trust me; you'll want the Phantom Liberty DLC - it opens the game up and takes you for a wild ride ->https://www.eurogamer.net/cyberpu...order-5077

Phantom Liberty branches off the main game and then puts you back into the base game storyline; it's an amazing DLC if you like a well rounded story. You basically sneak into Dogtown, fight your way out of it, then fight your through Night City and end up at NCX Spacesport for an epic battle and game ending-decision before getting back on track into the main game.

It's wild and an incredible storyline.
