Ultimate edition still more than $20.77?

The game is not a masterpiece. It is pretty fun, though. I eventually lost interest after beating the main quest and the DLC main quest. There were still lots of things to explore and do, but... yeah. It got repetitive.

People have been dumbed down so much they forgot what makes a good game

Consoles and phones dumbed down much of gaming. Then all kinds of people came up with cool stuff. Balatro, Slay the Spire, and claw type games are fun. Heck, Angry Birds is a masterpiece. So it's not all doom and gloom even in the modern age. Wasteland, though. That's the game.

It hits on so many levels and opens the door for a new genre; from city design and architecture, interwoven stories and lore with multiple endings based on choices... even the cut scenes were immersive enough to make you feel like you're watching a movie. The Phantom Liberty arc is pretty amazing and Dogtown almost makes it feel like they could just keep this "boomerang" format going for awhile if they wanted to expand into more DLCs (CDPR claims they won't but we'll see if there's an EdgeRunners season 2 suprise in store for the game). It isn't the same type of "masterpiece" as Red Dead 2 or the Last of Us but it definitely set a bar after CDPRs miraculous comeback from an absolutely horrific release.

This is one of the few games worth the $33. Oddly enough I couldn't get into the Witcher for the life of me (or Baldur's Gate/Elden Ring), but I'm gonna give it another go to see if I can get into that genre and move on to Skyrim before GTA6 drops.

What are a few games you would call out as masterpieces?

I mean if you have a graphics card capable enough some of the realism mods make this game visually stunning. There's even mods for extended storylines, gruesomely violent game kills, upgrades to the gameplay mechanics all from a supportive dev community. I was bummed they decided to abandon the multiplayer aspect they originally roadmapped but I'd disagree with the game being "dumbed down." You can play through it brute force, or stealth which also impacts the mini-stories.

I honestly didn't realize how much effort went into it until watching a bunch youtube vids after my first play through.

I think I may be the only person that didn't like this game. I found it tedious and not enjoyable at all.

It can get tedious. The world is superb, the story is good, the graphics can be great. Gameplay just felt like a slog after a while. Finished it, haven't felt the need to go back. If the PL DLC was on sale i might try that since I hear it's good. But for $18 it's absolutely worth getting if you have any interest at all in the genre, CDPR games, edgerunners, etc.

I put 222 hours into one playthrough (including PL) and wished there was more I could do. I'm a weirdo who doesn't enjoy multiple playthroughs, so I tend to crawl around and do all collectibles/side quests, and this was great for that. I like scrounging in Fallout a little more, but the build customization and combat of Cyberpunk were deeper and more fun. The main story got a little convoluted at times, but there were moments of real humanity, especially in the named character quests/arcs.

I think $18 for the main game is a no-brainer if you like open-world RPG-ish FPSs. $33 for the bundle seems a little steep. But a quick search suggests that's the lowest it's been, and if you like the main game, you'll definitely want PL.

I got this game on Google Stadia back in the day, and when that shut down, i got refunded. Then got a switch 2, with the liberty expansion. So I played it twice. Not my fave game in terms of gameplay and combat, but its such a cultural icon you gotta do it at least once. at this price, jump on it

same here. The graphics and the world is amazing but i never connected to the combat loop, but maybe thats because im not a FPS guy, and never figured out the melee combat build... and story imo sucks. quite mediocre

I've tried to play this game twice. Around the 20 hour mark I called it quits. Just didn't hook me and seemed like a time sink.
