Good price BUT taxes and fees can be significantly higher when buying service from them directly instead of eBay. I also wouldn't trust Redpocket with my credit card again. Wait for the lower price to hit eBay or find another carrier.

No more international callings, no more hotspots on the cheaper plan.

Better off with the unlimited Us mobile deal w/ the $25 gift card promo which brings it down to $174 all in for unlimited. That offers ends today. You have 90 days to activate it. Use your chase ink card if you have one to get another 5%.

Red Pocket Ebay store charges taxes now. No more GSMT renewal at Ebay as well. They removed international callings service and hotspots on my GSMT 8G $240 annual plan. That's the reason I went to another carrier yesterday. I got $210 including tax & fees annual plan with 10G, unlimited international callings, 5G hotspot at another carrier with GSMT network.

Ebay charges sales tax now but a flat sales tax rate is often far cheaper than the additional phone-specific taxes charged in most states.

"Nationally, taxes, fees, and government surcharges make up a record-high 26.8 percent tax on taxable voice services. Illinois residents continue to have the highest wireless taxes in the country at 36.0 percent, followed by Washington at 34.4 percent and Arkansas at 34.2 percent. Idaho residents pay the lowest wireless taxes at 16.1 percent." (https://taxfoundation.org/data/al...tate-2024/)

Paying 30%+ tax in some states or even 16% tax in the cheapest state is still far more when paying Redpocket directly when compared to a renewal on ebay at your local sales tax rate. Redpocket offers a decent value proposition for what it is ONLY when using Ebay refills. The tax rates of going through them directly make MANY other prepaid carriers a far better option. I would say this price is a good deal through ebay refills if you are comfortable with the service but strongly advise against using Redpocket directly for many reasons, cost being the largest. And as of this post, the Ebay refill cost is still a grossly high price. Pass until they match this price on the ebay refills.

There is an answer in the thread that's a better plan than my choice.
