I'd pay $40 more for the 3S Pro. I had the opportunity to try out the 3S/3S Pro/4 Rpo, and for me the 3S Pro was the sweet spot.
If you're not familiar with these types of glasses, they are display glasses that connect over USB C, just like the portable monitors. So your devices have to be compatible with USB C with Alt DP.
Note: For the Nintendo Switch 1/2 you need special charging adapters to play on the glasses as Nintendo uses a proprietary protocol.
Also note that if you intend to watch 3D content on it you need to have 3D FSBS/HSBS files. The glasses want FSBS, but with VLC media player on iOS/Android, and PotPlayer on Windows you can watch HSBS files on the glasses in full screen 3D.
Also note that so far none of the Pixel phones are compatible with 3D although they work for general use with the glasses.
Now for the differences between the 3 models I mentioned.
3S (current post):
Very decent glasses. A lot of people like the hardshell case. There are some issues with internal reflections, and corners of the screen can get cut off. But can be doable for a decent amount of people.
3S Pro:
Very little internal reflections. Screen fits into view very easily. Slightly uncomfortable on right side arm after a little while. Comes with a cloth case that I personally like a lot, but many people seem to dislike.
4 Pro:
OSD menu is a little better. Comes with HDR compatibility, but kind of useless on phones if you're trying to get true HDR. Your host device has to support it. AI HDR can be an enjoyable gimmick. Same cloth case. Very difficult to get all four corners in view. Many people in the community have resorted to nosepad modifications to get it to work. For some people it seems to be fine though. Not for me unfortunately. The RayNeo app is not needed, but with the 4 Pro if you want to try out their experimental AI 2D to 3D video conversion I think you need the 4 Pro. But otherwise there's not too much that's different.

Thanks for the detailed information. I tried the 4 Pro (and have never tried any other version or brand of these types of glasses) and it was so underwhelming. The lower 5% - 10% was cut off, they made my ears feel hot afterwards, and instead of feeling like I was watching a 202" screen, it felt like I was watching a 40" tv from 10 feet away. I *really* wanted to like these, but they would have to work hard to be meh. I feel now like all of the glowing reddit posts about the 4 Pro are just shill posts and there are more negative, neutral aspects than wow-positive ones.
Yes. You can get prescription lenses from somewhere like HonsVR. But without them, depending on how severe your prescription is, you won't be able to see clearly.

Idk about the ear thing, but the lower part being cutoff makes sense. They include other nose pieces to help you adjust. But if your IPD (interpupillary distance) is not in the ideal range, then it's very hard to get perfect.
For the screen size a couple things matter. One is what you're connecting. If it's your phone, then the phone can limit the screen size due to having a different aspect ratio. Also mobile apps for tv shows and movies can be formatted in a way that looks small even when enlarged.
Better way to watch is to connect to a laptop, or if you have a Samsung phone, connect in DeX mode. DeX mode apps use the full screen and reformat the TV apps to have subtitles not take up such a large part of the screen. On iPhones connect over wired airplay.
The other thing is sitting in front of a wall at a far enough distance like you would for a tv. When there's some light and you can see the wall a bit, you can feel the effect.
There are exceptions and some people cannot see this illusion so it ruins the experience for them.
I usually don't feel the 200 in thing though. In my experience it's more like between 80-120 in depending on where I'm watching. Occasionally like 32 inches if I'm too close to something.
