I bought this at a much higher price point a few months ago, and quite enjoy it. It's very portable, decent battery life (8-10W idle without much effort), easily plays the games I want, and doesn't have much fan noise even with gaming/heavy workloads. The display is great as well, high refresh rate and plenty bright. There's also a second NVME slot, which I immediately populated with another 1TB ssd. The power brick is a bit chonky, but if you're not pushing its power, you can likely get by on 100W USB-C charging while out and about.
I have three minor complaints:
•The keyboard backlight is insanely bright, even at the lowest level. Why??? It has three levels, and anything above level one is way too bright.
•Asus software still sucks. Just get GHelper, it's made using this device so much better.
•The WiFi card sucks also. Just spend the $20 on Amazon and get an AX210 card, otherwise you'll likely run into speed and latency issues.
At $1,400, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I spent $1,999 when buying mine to replace a Thinkpad, and while this sale hurts my soul (and wallet), it's a great device. Feel free to ask any questions you have, I'd be happy to answer them.
On second thought, here you go, help yourself: https://slickdeals.net/search?q=zephyr

This 14 inch ASUS TUF A14 stands out as a very portable Windows laptop with strong integrated graphics, a bright 2.5K 165 hertz display, and enough performance for light gaming without much fan noise. The 8060S is described as roughly 4060 class, with lower power draw and the ability to charge over 100 watt USB C. Battery life is decent for idle use, and the second NVMe slot makes storage expansion easy. The main weak spots are the Realtek Wi Fi card, which can cause poor latency until replaced, and the keyboard backlight, which runs very bright. It feels like a capable travel machine if discrete graphics are not required.
Common Questions (5)
The Radeon 8060S is roughly equivalent to an RTX 4060 and can outperform it in some tests, while the RTX 5060 is about 15% faster. The 8060S also uses less power, runs cooler, and can be charged with a 100W USB-C adapter.
The included Realtek Wi‑Fi card can have poor speed and unstable latency, especially for gaming. Replacing it with an Intel AX210 for about $20 reportedly fixes the issue and improves Wi‑Fi gaming performance.
It has a second NVMe slot, so adding another SSD is straightforward. ASUS also makes a 64GB version of this model, but the U.S. market appears limited to the 32GB configuration.
Yes, it can reportedly run on 100W USB‑C charging when you are not pushing full power. The included brick is larger, so USB‑C is the more convenient travel option.
No, it is an IPS matte display, not OLED. It is described as bright, color accurate, with little to no ghosting and only slight corner backlight bleed at 100% brightness.

The wifi issues are real. I was getting ~5mbit using built in wifi, my other devices on wifi get 1gbps no issue.
Battery life is mediocre (I know it is a small battery) Initial test is about 2 hours of a light game, and some web browsing. Perhaps there's some tuning I can do here.
Display is overall nice, matte finish is good, a bit dim on max brightness while in the sun. Keyboard feel is 'fine'.
Performance seems well enough for what it is, haven't tested any local LLM models yet but that wasn't my primary use case.
'Lap feel' is good - doesn't seem to get too hot.
My normal road laptop is an M2 air, battery life is amazing, form factor is great. Wanted a windows device to do some light gaming while on the road.
May end up looking for a similar model with a bigger battery. Value for the price seems fair though, if you need windows and decent onboard graphics
