I assume this only works when there are other loads plugged in, so the bulb could detect an alternative conducting path when the switch is closed (ON) and the power is out. Those who complained about it not working have probably only tested it by pulling the plug, which is equivalent to opening the switch (OFF). The test rig should have another light bulb (or similar) wired in parallel. I might get a set of these just for funsies

Battery is 1500mAh. That is 5.5Whr (1.5Ah x 3.7v). Bulb uses 12W. That means it can only run 0.46 hour (5.5Whr/12W) in ideal conditions. That means even less runtime if includes inefficiency in calculation.
