Winix units really work great I have 2 larger units (refurb C545) and one large costco C909. With all of the smoke/bad air quality this summer these really make the air in our house more manageable than the outside air. Not sure how these much smaller units do as far as CFM and noise. The large units are quiet and move a lot of cfm.

I bought the last 3 of these from the Huntington Beach Costco last weekend to upgrade from my squeaking C545s and I can say these move a ton of air. Especially after farting near one.

So you have to go to a dying warehouse to get this price?
If you want the deal, then yes. But you also need a membership, which if it's "dying", maybe you don't have?

This model does come on sale for the same price, both in-warehouse and online with $5 shipping, so if you wait it might come on sale for you to have shipped to you. It is funny that the normal sale price doesn't attract attention, but as soon as it's on clearance for the same price, a deal becomes popular. Same thing happens at my local Costco as well, people see clearance and they jump.

We have this purifier in our bedroom, also purchased from Costco, and it works very well. We actually call ours the fart eater. Filter lasts a long time, even despite my emissions.

These would be great units if it wasn't for the cheap fan ball bearings. They go bad quick and it will start making an annoying whining noise. Even worse you can't change them without higher quality ones them without having soldering. Other than that the two I have work perfect.

Totally dying:

Last Quarter (Q3 Fiscal 2026)

Earnings Per Share (EPS): $4.93 reported versus $4.94 expected

Total Revenue: $70.53 billion, beating the $70.12 billion estimate

Sales Growth: Same-store sales grew 6.6%, and digital e-commerce sales jumped 20.4%

The 3.5 billion dollar increase in warehouse revenue quarterly from Q3 25 to Q3 26 is a pretty strong indicator that all Costcos will Spirit Halloween stores any day now.

These too? I have 5 of the box shaped Winix and 1 of them has lasted a long time no issues, one makes only a little noise, one is loud, and two scream 😂 I was hoping the cylinder style would hold up better. I saw that people do the fan bearings with soldering just haven't got around to trying that.

No these do not have the same issue, I had 8 of the box style all went bad same way. Rather than fix them I replaced them with these, I've now had a couple running since the day they became available to buy years ago (really hated that squeaking on the c545!!) and they do not have any issues to date

These are trash. I've owned three of them, and the fan bearings give out in less than 6 months. Good thing with Costco is that you can return them when (not if) that happens.
