what's wrong is Samsung ships android with their ONE controller which turns on the stupid ram "compression" saver PLUS by default which slows everything to a crawl

turn it off, it is buried under

Settings > Device care > Memory > RAM Plus

Toggle OFF and restart phone

instantly much faster

can someone explain why people like galaxy phones when there are often moto phones with more ram for the same or better price?

i always just assumed its like the iphone of androids, but is there something more to it? do people really want a 4gb galaxy over an 8gb moto (not saying there is one like that for sale right now, but in the past there has been, but there always seems much more hype over a low end galaxy)?

I even did this on my S25 ultra...I bought one of the refurb for $40 for my son as an emergency since he is younger, doesn't need a lot of data/texts...got signed up for TracFone, number they gave him gets 10+ spam calls a day from the get-go....annoying

I've never looked into this myself but I vaguely remember reading about people solving the spam problem by signing up for a free google voice number and routing the phone through google

also I think tracfone lets you change your phone number once a year for free?

Amount of spam has nothing to do with Tracfone, you get assigned a generic number from the available Verizon numbers for your area since it's Verizon service.
And it's easy to change the number if needed, just text MINC to TF support & follow instructions.

Cool didn't even know you could turn off virtual memory on phone should make it faster since not using slower SDD but might make some apps crash if they run out of memory gonna try and see if actually makes any diff on this slow ass phone!

I think they usually have better cameras and the build quality is also often thought to be better. But maybe the most important reason is that their security/software support is like twice as long as Motorola. Those clearance Motorolas are usually very low on support time left. The only phone makers I know that support their phones for 5+ years are Samsung, Google, and Apple.

You need 365 days of active service which is included.

ETA - I just read the description that only says it comes with 365 days of service. This service includes 1500 minutes 1500 texts and 1500 mb data per year. People familiar with Tracfone will generally know that, but it you're not, you might not know.
