I have bought so many controllers since they end up with stick drift after about a year. I wonder if these are already half broken even if they look good.

Probably. I'm frustrated with dualsense controllers and Sony in general. Awful customer service, them killing physical media, and poor build quality for their controllers and hardware.

I had two perfectly working dualsense controllers. I took a break from gaming for about 2 or 3 months, left the controllers on my desk, in a room I rarely used. Didn't spill anything on them, it wasn't in a room with a ton of humidity or moisture, it was a fairly clean environment, I live alone so nobody else had used them. They BOTH had stick drift when I came back from my gaming break.

Friggin junk controllers with a built in expiration date.

Even though Best Buy only allows 14 days return window (plus and total member longer), a lot of "fair"/cheap "open box" items are actually trade-ins. They can be really dirty or worn down.

Worst controller Sony has ever made. I mean this from it's durability, not how it feels in my hands. I've had every sony console, and I have never had to replace a controller. I've gone through 4 of these stupid things and I only play single player games. I'm not on multiplayer shooters abusing the sticks or raging or anything like that. These sticks (both sides) develop drift so easy that it's embarrassing.

They just patented an updated design with better joystick tech.

I've had 2 controllers in constant rotation for the past 5+ years and they both are working as well as the day I bought them. 🤷🏼 ♂️

I have 4 controllers we regularly use. only 1 has ever gotten drift and I was able to take it apart and clean it out and put it back together.

Dude I don't understand, I have had 4 dual sense controller for 3 years now and not a single one of them has had stick drift. Same with my 2 Xbox controllers 3 years and no drift. What are you even playing to get drift in one year? My elite series 2 controller has been played through hours of cod fh5 fh6 Fortnite Minecraft assassins creed etc
