And this isn't specific to this fan, but I wish more fans would provide options for manual controls instead of being remote-only. I don't mind having a remote, but I really would rather not have to rely on it for the thing to work at all. Our house is old and we're wired for switches that control fan and light separately in a few places. I can't imagine our house is all that unique.
