Epic movie. The start of slo-mo Max Payne type gun play. Not sure if it was the first, but damn sure its one of the best. Most Hong King action cinema owes everything to this.

I'm still confused at the price point on this. I was able to get my hands on the Arrow release which appears to be better than this release (4k restoration better, cantonese translation is more accurate, more extras and goodies) for cheaper than the "sell" price I've seen this consistently go for. What am I missing?

I believe you when you say the Arrow Cantonese translation is more accurate -- I watched Shout's A Better Tomorrow & the subtitles referred to Ti Lung & Chow Yun-Fat at one point as "Sung Chi-Ho and Cripple Mark"! But A Better Tomorrow II's subs refer to the former as Sung Tse Ho. Really lame they consistently screwed up a main character's name but got it mostly right in the sequel.

Part of me regrets going with Shout over Arrow but I didn't know they had rights to more than just Hard Boiled.
