Half the L3 cache of the Ryzen 7 3700x... It has 16MB, while the 3700X has 32MB. Low amounts of L3 cache causes lower FPS and lower 1% lows.
2 cores / 4 threads less than the 3700X.
Your observation is correct, but not an apples to apples scenario.
PCIe speed only matters if you're other hardware can take advantage of it.

Earlier this year, I picked up a similar bundle from Microcenter, though mine had G.Skill 16GB DDR4 RAM (8x2).
And with an RTX 3060Ti, I was still able to play Clair Obscur and Cyberpunk at 80+ fps on 1440p.
Surprised me. No IGOU is annoying. So I tried a 2080. Then I put in 5070 TI for giggles. Def overkill and the mobo or whatever can't keep the GPU busy.
Was able to only get to like 85% during LLM inference but it's a small PC that I was only planning on doing some light work and use as a Citrix / test box to test GPUs I buyGreat value play and should be turn for 1080p gaming for sure if you get 5060 8gb card.
It is a great deal even if the parts are old.
Some of us have old ram and don't want to buy am4 and this was a cheap way to use those ram for me: some people don't have budget either and could still build a decent budget gaming. Use an old ass gen 3 256GB SSD too. Made it useful!
Many years from now, you can tell the kids.... you know when I was your age, the prices weee so bad I was gaming on a 5 year old CPU!!!!

$230 for the base PC. before GPU of course. Gonna pick up a used 3060 12GB for $225 to make this all in lower than $500.
This thing looks awesome and runs well for a lunch box PC!
5500 CPU cost around $80
motherboard cost around $90
cooler cost around $40
makes $380 for the parts , so its an DEAL yes but is it smart to buy an 4 year old mediocre CPU its questionable
add $50 for an cheap Case and $50 for an cheap PSU
1 TB SSD adds another $120
GPu ARC B580 with 12 GB add another $320
total system would be $ 800, still crazy if you compare it to before AI RIP EVERYONE OFF BOOM

Definitely not a buyer's market.
Is it just me, or is there never a buyer's market for PC parts lol. Seriously I don't think there was a buyer's market in the past 20 years.

It's not a great cpu, but it is a workable one. If you are stuck on am4 and want to game obviously save a bit more up and get a 5600x or 5700x.
