These solar post cap lights are aimed at 4 by 4 posts and stand out for their bright output and three white lighting modes. The fit is reported to be good on existing 4 by 4 posts, and the included adapters cover wood posts and 5 by 5 posts. Charging guidance says the first charge can take one to two days, then later top ups take about three to four hours, which matches the small solar panel. Reliability is the main concern, with loose wires, failed units, and lightweight construction coming up alongside the low price.
Common Questions (5)
It fits 4x4 posts well, but posts without a sleeve may need an adapter. The package has been reported to include adapters for 3.5-inch actual wood posts and 5x5 posts, so compatibility depends on your post size.
The first charge can take 1-2 days in direct sunlight, while later charges are reported to take about 3-4 hours. The small solar panel may need a full couple of sunny days to top up the battery.
They are reported to be very bright and look nice on 4x4 posts, with a downward glow from the gap adding extra effect. Some units have reliability issues, so buying extras can make sense if you want spares.
Some buyers received units without adapters, while other listings or packages reportedly include adapters for 3.5-inch actual wood posts and 5x5 posts. If your posts are not a standard 4x4 sleeve, check the included hardware before ordering.
The listed intro price changed from $19.99 to $39.99, but the promo code still brings it down to about $16. That makes the deal close to the advertised $15 range.
