A PassMark multi-core score of 13,330 today is an absolute insult. Six years ago, I bought a budget laptop with a Ryzen 4700U for $400, and it scored 13,115.

Let's call this what it is: Big Tech is cannibalizing the consumer market. Hyperscalers and the AI industrial complex are hogging every high-end silicon wafer, cutting-edge chip node, and gigawatt of power to build their bloated data center monoliths. Meanwhile, regular consumers are being fed overpriced breadcrumbs and rebadged, stagnant hardware. Moore's Law didn't die it was stolen by tech monopolies, leaving the rest of us in a PC market dark age.

Battery removal documented in page 34 of the manual via the support site is as follows:

Remove the bottom cover
Loosen one (1) captive screw, remove one (1) Phillips M2.0 × 7.0 screw and two (2) Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screws
Remove the battery
Disconnect the battery cable from the battery and remove five (5) Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screws

This OmniBook X Flip stands out as a lightweight 14 inch OLED 2 in 1 with a bright, colorful display, strong hinge, and a compact 65W USB C charger. The aluminum and plastic chassis looks more expensive than the price, and the keyboard and brown finish get positive reactions. The main drawback is the Ryzen AI 5 430, which is repeatedly described as a 4 core chip better suited to light tasks than virtual machines or heavier work. Battery removal is documented in the manual, but the small keyboard keys and occasional concern about the power adapter add some caution.

  • The included 65W USB-C GaN mini wall charger is compact for travel convenience.

    The_Love_Spudrobstak

  • The OLED touch display can enhance streaming and other visual use cases.

    TealThread549

  • The hinge feels very strong and the chassis supports work and puzzle gaming.

    robstak

  • The manual documents battery removal steps, which can help with service planning.

    The_Love_Spud

  • The Ryzen AI 5 430 CPU configuration can feel underpowered for heavier workloads.

    UniqueLeopard361argo436

  • The keyboard keys can feel narrow compared with a standard keyboard.

    tyiu48

  • Trackpad quality can be inconsistent, which may affect everyday navigation.

    BlueZea1ot

  • A previous unit reportedly had a power plug that burned up and ran hot.

Is this a good deal for the configuration? Also are the HP batteries any better now...my past experience with hp was the battery stops holding charge 13 months after you start using a new laptop...hope they fixed and the battery is replaceable....

Almost no mention of OLED. I understood it wasn't the best for me mostly web surfing and reading text. It should be very colorful. Looks like a good deal for a general purpose laptop. The flip and OLED making it great for those watching streaming.

Absolutely agree. I can't believe that amd is putting out a 4 core processor in anything above like a super budget Chromebook.
This is exactly correct. Once they finish building all their data centers, then what? That is the question.

Been buying HP EliteBook and zbook with 8000 series amd 16GB and 500nvme for $350-$480 depending on condition. More process better chassis but not oled or touch. So depends on what you need in a computer

According to cpubenchmark.net the Ryzen AI 5 340 outperforms this model Ryzen AI 5 430 by a considerable 45% based on there benchmark results I thought this was very interesting, especially when you consider I bought my dell 14" 2 in 1 with the AI 5 340 for $500 quite a few months back. Same RAM, SSD, same size touchscreen, but much better CPU all for $150 less.

I had one and returned it and the plug was burning up, it was hot. I don't know how long this will last honestly.
