It looks like Redfora sells a 72hr kit for 2 people for $156. That means the cost of the Pelican case to match this content is $180 in the deal.
And the Pelican 1560 is a pricier model, on primary page for $272-285. So a savings of maybe $100 off the box.
Quantity aside, let's analyze quality. I love Pelican so that discount l sounds great, but any go-bag is OK in a backpack in my opinion. A heavy hard side box can survive floods and cave-ins, but is a pain to lug as you run out a place. Plus, you have to replace the food every few years anyways. So you are relying on having JUST enough space for food and that Redfora will be here in a few years with the EXACT size of food to fit this case. I'd personally rather have 2 go bags: one Pelican for tools and one separate bag for food that I can expand or collapse.
Passing.
