Great deal, if I didn't snag the dewalt 20v previously I'd get this. I only needed a small compact / light use one at the time. (E.g. cutting 4" and 6" wood posts )

I really didn't need this at all, but considering the 6Ah battery alone is more expensive and the $300 I had parked in Lowe's gift cards, for $50 and free delivery today, I'll take it! Thanks, OP!

Beware, I have this saw from a few years ago and the tool-less chain tensioner isn't great. Hopefully they fixed it, I have other saws with the same system that work better. Other than the questionable tensioner, I like the saw. Note that the 16" and 20" saws have better tensioners.

Also, getting the 6 Ah batter is a big deal, I have a 5 Ah with mine and that's gonna be the bare minimum. If you want to use continuously, you'd need to rotate 3 of the 5 Ah batteries, 1 in use, 1 cooling and 1 charging. When they come off the saw they're too hot to charge immediately, the fan on the charger cools it down for a while before starting to charge.

I don't know if they changed the tensioner but I think this CS1815 is a new 2026 model. I haven't used either saw.

This a great deal I have EGO blower and trimmer and both working great so far. What is better is I just bought last week the smaller version and had not taken out of box and returning when I pick up new. As someone else said the 6 Ah battery is great to have.

Mediocre deal... Lowe's did $250 18 inch chainsaw with 5 aH battery. Bought end of August last year, may be worth it to hold out for a better deal if you don't need it right away

It's not just you, the tensioner setup is a bit awkward. Again, as long as these new models work a bit better than mine, it's not a deal-breaker. I also have a Worx saw that uses the same configuration and it's not too bad, but traditional tensioners are easier for me.

I was sawing with a 4AH and a 5AH the other day on a big dense stump and it was painful.. then I threw in one of my 12AH from my EGO Mower and oh my god.... it was like it got a powerup in DOOM or something and just sliced through everything like butter

We use DeWalt for power tools and EGO for outdoor equipment. Love everything except the chainsaw. It's been a rough season and a few trees have fallen on our property. I don't expect it to put work on a 50yr old maple but even still, it's been rough to work with. Waiting on a good DeWalt deal before giving up on a battery chainsaw.

Suggest using a full chisel vs semi chisel chain on clean wood. With full chisel the likelihood of kickbacks increase, but experienced users should be OK. It should not be used with inexperienced users. Full chisel made a huge difference on my 18" EGO.
