This 2 gallon orange Halloween bucket is a simple empty HDPE bucket that works well for trick or treat use, storage, garden tasks, and other small jobs. The size gets praise for being handy, with mentions of good thickness and a carry handle, and some stores have plenty in stock even when the website shows limited availability. The main caveat is that it is not food grade and does not include candy or batteries. A few reports also mention cracked bottoms after sitting for a while, so it is a practical pick if you want a cheap reusable bucket rather than a food container.
The empty 2-gallon bucket can work well as a reusable trick-or-treat and décor container.
The bucket can be delivered even when local store inventory is sold out.
In-store availability can be much higher than the website's limited stock message suggests.
The 2-gallon size can be useful for practical tasks like washing a car.
The bucket is not food-grade because of dye, so food should not contact it.
The bucket does not include candy, so pre-filled Halloween expectations may not match reality.
The bucket can crack and split at the bottom after sitting for a while.
Online pickup may be unavailable even when store inventory shows stock.

The 2 gal. Orange Halloween Bucket from The Home Depot is just the bucket—it does not come with candy. The product listing specifically states "Included: No Additional Items Included." It's marketed as a reusable trick-or-treat bucket and decorative item.
The bucket:
Costs about $2.98.
Holds approximately 2 gallons of candy.
Is made of durable HDPE plastic with a carry handle.
Is intended for trick-or-treating, Halloween décor, or general household use.
If you're looking for a pre-filled Halloween bucket with candy, Home Depot generally does not sell this bucket preloaded. You would need to purchase the candy separately.
