This 5/8 inch by 100 foot Flexon hose is a budget-friendly long hose that feels closer to a traditional rubber hose than a flimsy vinyl one. The brass couplings, rotating male end, lifetime warranty, and made in the USA labeling stand out, and it has been used on hose carts with minimal kinking. The main caveats are that the black hose can heat water in sun, it is not drinking-water safe, and the contractor grade label feels generous to some. It is a solid value if you want a long hose without paying premium rubber prices.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can be hard to locate because the pallet is often moved from the aisle to overhead racks, the far back of the garden center, or even up front with lawn tractors. If the shelf is empty, ask an associate to check the SKU or overhead pallet locations, since stock counts can be high even when the item is not visible.

  • It has reinforced ends, all-brass couplings, and a rotating male end, but it is not especially thick and some describe it as more like a traditional hose with a black rubber exterior. It can work well on a hose cart with minimal kinking, though the 300 psi burst rating and stiffness make some question the contractor-grade label.

  • Yes, it can scan at $8.80 even when the pallet or shelf shows about $24.95-$25.00. Several stores had mismatched signage or no clearance tag, but the register price came up at the deal price.

  • The hose can come with brass fittings, including all-brass couplings, even when the listing photos show silver fittings. The brass hardware is one of the features buyers noticed after pickup.

  • No, it is not drinking-water safe. It is a black hose with a lifetime warranty and 300 psi burst pressure, but it should not be used for potable water.

If you can find them...Decent fittings - especially like the rotating male end, 'Made in the USA', 300 psi Burst Pressure, NOT drinking water safe, Backed by Flexon Hose with a lifetime warranty.

We're using several of these on a 4 wheeled hose cart and they seem to work well with minimal kinking. Unfortunately, the Arizona sun heats up the water in a black hose pretty quickly if you let it sit in the sun

Even the Costco/Sam's Club 100 foot garden hoses go for at least $25+. Hard to beat $10 for 100 foot, 5/8 inch garden hose.
I love Costco but the last garden hose I got there was the worst I've ever owned. I can't remember the brand name but it is extremely stiff and hasn't loosened up over the years.

If it ain't a rubber hose like the Continental ones, it probably ain't great.
Are the Continental anything like the old Craftsman premium grade all rubber hoses? Those are amazing but sadly, they don't make them anymore, just a poorer quality newer version (of course). Mine just burst after 10+ years but it was because a raccoon bit into the end of it. Now I've got it fitted with a cheap Home Depot end repair kit that is garbage.

Isn't the one at Costco also Flexon contractor grade 100ft? How are these different?

Just picked up two. Contractor grade is a stretch, reinforced ends but not super thick hose. Still for the price seems well worth it. My Home Depot in Tempe has them moved right to the front of the garden section not where the app said they would be but they had over 20 of them.
300 psi burst is fairly low so not ctr grade

Contractor grade doesn't mean high quality.

Just got one through self checkout about 25 minutes away from me. The store had about 8 out and 23 in stock according to the associate. She seemed surprised at the cheap price so she scanned to see how many they had left. I almost felt like I was in one of those penny item Home Depot videos lol are they all trained to check how much everything is ringing up for now because of those videos ? lol

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

If anyone wants a "real" high quality hose, I highly recommend Parker brand.
That is what nurseries and farmers use, who use them every day through tough use.

I have no deals to post, as these are usually sold more on industrial type sites, but someone are resold on Amazon, etc.
100' is usually in the $60-100 range though... so definitely not a deal. But... they last for 10+ years, not like the homeowner junk at HD/Lowes.

My store said 32 in stock and I found 0. I saw only Husky and Gorilla hoses on the shelves. It's all good.

Are the ends actually brass? Photo shows a silver end.
The picture states it's brass threaded female coupling, whatever that means.
