it detects maybe 60-75% of people in my front yard. because it's solar, it uses PIR (passive infrared) instead of constant AI video detection
stick to a wired cam if you care about detecting people with near 100% accuracy

The solar has nothing to due with the limitations. Its the battery. Can't record 24/7 as the battery would be dead. Although tapo is getting closer with things like 24/7 capture options. I have the older tapo solar cams and it's pretty accurate gets about 90% detection correct. Vs my wired floored tapo cam does have a high rate of good detection, its also plagued with false detection.
My only complain with Tapo is that going thru warranty is a bit pain. They try everything they can not to replace a defected/broken item. Also, You have to pay to ship your defect item for them to check and send you a free replacement.
