The way Lowes policy goes is if you use GC to buy online stuff and return in store you get store credit and that credit can be used in store only. It's insane and i hope they get sued. Their argument is lowes.com is a different entity than lowes retail BM

Id stay away from any Lowes GC
HD and Ace does the same thing. Hate the policy just as much but it's been around for a while now. I've even argued with HD staff years before to reorder a similar item than give me store credit but they said no. Pretty hard to avoid the policy if you want to save some money using gift cards.

This is very annoying if you have to return something expensive you bought online. If you don't realize it and accidentally return it in store to avoid the hassle of shipping it back you can't reorder it online with the return gift card.
It's good to know abut their weird return policy, but at least you still can use the credit in-store. I know it is annoying, but certainly not a deal breaker. 10% off Lowes GCs is a good discount but not great.

Weird, that does not seem to be my experience. My annoyance is that when you return something using a giftcard, they don't put the money back in the GC, but they send you a completely new GC by mail for the refund.

I agree. Very annoying. I still have 2 in store only cards waiting to be used. But it seems only for in store purchase. I returned an online purchase before it shipped and got real gift card back.
