Just a friendly warning that we bought the 55" Omni new, and the panel died twice within the first year with only light usage -- first the original, then the warranty replacement. The second warranty replacement is still in the box as an emergency spare, but we don't trust it enough to even use it as an everyday TV.

On the other hand, the 50" 4-series we bought around the same time has been flawless. YMMV.

I would say these shouldn't be an everyday TV at that price. Great tv for a bedroom, guest room or dorm.

At the Woot prices, perhaps. At the original prices, they were most certainly meant for regular use. Either way, they're still the same TVs, just several years older, and I personally wouldn't buy one of these -- at least not the 55" Omni -- at any price, even for occasional use. I offer as evidence the brand-new one in storage that we chose to replace at further expense rather than trust. Even $230 is too much for an essentially unwarrantied TV that, in my experience, may not even last six months. 🤷

Bought the Omni 55" 3 years ago. Still working fine. I did install a Fire Stick 4k Max for better performance. Considering 1 for a backup.

What's the difference between 4-series and Omni?

Well that was worthless; the only thing I got out of that was the omni ones have picture in picture support. 🤷

If you'd read the whole thing, you'd also have gotten that Omni supports Dolby Vision in the larger models (which aren't available through this Woot deal, granted). They have hands-free Alexa (no need to push the button on the remote) and a privacy switch to turn off the mics. The 4-series is only available in smaller sizes (again, moot for Woot). Omni also supports USB webcams and Zoom calls. Plus the PIP stuff you mentioned.

TL;DR = For the models available in this deal, only the Omni models have hands-free Alexa, webcam/Zoom support, and PIP for Ring doorbells and other cameras. Otherwise, they're essentially identical.

If I read it? I did read it and it doesn't list any differences in peak brightness or dynamic range (things that matter). The DV on the larger models is a moot point for this deal so

My bad. I assumed you hadn't read it because you said all you got out of it was PIP support and didn't mention the hands-free Alexa or webcam/Zoom support, which are applicable across the range. I mentioned the DV because the person to whom I replied -- and by extension you -- asked about the differences between the two lines, not just the differences between the models available in this deal, and I erred on the side of providing complete info with clear disclaimers that some of it didn't apply here. Again, mea culpa. I'm a horrible person.

It's noted correctly in the details as UHD, but just a reminder that this is the original non-QLED Omni 2021 TV, and not the modern QLED panel.

Well, you're only horrible if you wrote that "review". Why is everyone so easily offended these days and considers everything a personal attack?

Still too expensive for a personal ad machine.
