GameSir Tegenaria Lite is a wired controller that stands out for cheap PC, Switch, and retro emulation use. It feels comfortable and responsive, with analog triggers and back buttons that are rare at this price, and the wired setup avoids charging, pairing, and dongles. The PS style layout is a plus for some, and the controller has been praised for Switch and PC play. The main caveats are the short USB A cable, the back paddles and remapping software setup, and reports of trigger wear or ghost inputs after heavy use. A solid low cost option if wired play fits your setup.
Common Questions (5)
Basic button assignment can be done on the controller itself without software, and the manual shows a non-software remap method. For deeper back-paddle compatibility or more advanced remapping on PC, DS4-style software may still be needed depending on the game and setup.
Yes. It is repeatedly described as a strong budget controller for PC and emulator use, with responsive controls and no batteries to manage. It is also a good fit for retro emulation like PS1/PS2.
The sticks are Hall effect, but the triggers are not. Some units have developed ghost inputs or trigger issues after heavy use, while others have held up fine for months to a year.
It is a wired controller, which avoids charging, pairing, and dongles. The cable is roughly 6 feet long and uses USB-A, so a larger TV setup may need an extension cable.
Yes, it is reported to make Switch play more comfortable and is liked for its PS-style analog-stick layout. The wired design also means no charging to worry about during Switch sessions.

I'll be honest though, my experience with Gamesir controllers hasn't been all that great. I wasn't too thrilled about the aforementioned problem I ran into but I got their Nova 2 and right out of the box it didn't connect through bluetooth nor the dongle it came with. I ended up returning the Nova 2.

FWIW, this seems like a great deal if you didn't want to worry about pairing, dongles, etc but still wanted a decent controller. Especially considering the analog triggers and back buttons you rarely find in this price range. I'd like it to be wireless (even if more $) but still worked as a wired controller like the Anbernic and 8Bitdo's. I normally use them in wired mode but having wireless is also nice.
Also I prefer the PS analog vs D pad layout vastly over the Switch / Xbox style where the analog is above the D pad. This is more like the Steam Deck. 100% personal preference.
Actual link to manual below, makes no mention of the software nor would it make sense (IMO) to require a button combo sequence if you were mapping it via an on screen interface. *That being said, I have not tried it myself so cannot confirm it to work however when researching this controller (since I really hate 3rd party software like this), I was reviewing exactly this before even considering purchasing since that would be my personal make or break as well.

Top left area (English section), first row under "advanced tutorial." Can't copy and paste the instructions since the PDF appears to be 'flat' with no detectable text.
FWIW, I always map back buttons to L3 and R3, so for me, I don't mind manually programming a controller once by a silly combo if it works forever afterwards. If I was trying to do a massive remap or macros, etc, I might deal with the software. I just have an oddly hard time pressing the analog sticks down without a massive stick movement so for me back buttons are a godsend.
TDLR: Best of luck and not trying to argue, just share the info I've run across in my mad googlings
I prefer the PS layout vs xbox/switch.
