GameSir Tegenaria Lite is a wired controller that stands out for cheap PC, Switch, and retro emulation use. It feels comfortable and responsive, with analog triggers and back buttons that are rare at this price, and the wired setup avoids charging, pairing, and dongles. The PS style layout is a plus for some, and the controller has been praised for Switch and PC play. The main caveats are the short USB A cable, the back paddles and remapping software setup, and reports of trigger wear or ghost inputs after heavy use. A solid low cost option if wired play fits your setup.

  • The triggers can develop ghost inputs after roughly 130 hours of regular use.

  • The triggers may break after only a few months when usage is rough on triggers.

  • The back palm paddles may require software hoops, and the Tegeneria software can feel user-unfriendly.

  • The wired cable is reportedly about six feet long and uses USB-A, so extension may be needed for large TVs.

I got this one it was on sale at $10. The triggers started doing ghost inputs after about 130 hours worth of regular usage. While the sticks are hall effect the triggers are not so that might explain why the triggers started to "drift". I would use these as backup controllers. For primary I would look to spend a little more.

I'll be honest though, my experience with Gamesir controllers hasn't been all that great. I wasn't too thrilled about the aforementioned problem I ran into but I got their Nova 2 and right out of the box it didn't connect through bluetooth nor the dongle it came with. I ended up returning the Nova 2.

you don't need software you can assign the buttons without. I've never used the software don't have time lol
Are you using it on windows? I assume it defaults to "xbox controller." I know you can remap them in Steam but for regular games on PC it seems you have to use DS4 software.

Like P.lo.v. stated you don't need to use the software. First section of page (found on reddit)

FWIW, this seems like a great deal if you didn't want to worry about pairing, dongles, etc but still wanted a decent controller. Especially considering the analog triggers and back buttons you rarely find in this price range. I'd like it to be wireless (even if more $) but still worked as a wired controller like the Anbernic and 8Bitdo's. I normally use them in wired mode but having wireless is also nice.

Also I prefer the PS analog vs D pad layout vastly over the Switch / Xbox style where the analog is above the D pad. This is more like the Steam Deck. 100% personal preference.
Do you have this controller? The reddit link you're referencing is actually on point about what I said... and it recommends using DS4 software. So, trying not to use any software for back paddle compatibility. If you know how, I'm sure it will benefit a lot here.

I do not have the controller but the link I provided (which doesn't seem to be working, guessing SlickDeals nerf'd it) pointed to the snip of the user manual specially talking about the non-software way to remap the buttons via the gamepad itself.

Actual link to manual below, makes no mention of the software nor would it make sense (IMO) to require a button combo sequence if you were mapping it via an on screen interface. *That being said, I have not tried it myself so cannot confirm it to work however when researching this controller (since I really hate 3rd party software like this), I was reviewing exactly this before even considering purchasing since that would be my personal make or break as well.

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1...1749545524

Top left area (English section), first row under "advanced tutorial." Can't copy and paste the instructions since the PDF appears to be 'flat' with no detectable text.

FWIW, I always map back buttons to L3 and R3, so for me, I don't mind manually programming a controller once by a silly combo if it works forever afterwards. If I was trying to do a massive remap or macros, etc, I might deal with the software. I just have an oddly hard time pressing the analog sticks down without a massive stick movement so for me back buttons are a godsend.

TDLR: Best of luck and not trying to argue, just share the info I've run across in my mad googlings Wink

I got this at this price a few months back to use with my switch and I love it. No need to worry about charging anymore.
I prefer the PS layout vs xbox/switch.

Pretty good controller, I didn't like the shape/feel of the triggers though.

Would this work well enough for casual Fortnite, on a Win11 PC?

I've probably said this another deal for this controller but I'll say it again. For this price is definitely worth it since it can be used on both the Switch and PC and I've had mine for a year and it still works fine. I would at least give it a try.

I love these controllers, but what's with the weird AI advert you made for this thread? Did you pick that up off their socials somewhere? That aside, this is a great price for an awesome controller and it made playing the switch so much more bearable for me, and I still prefer this over my other controllers for PC as well.
It's called ShillDeals for a reason, bub.

I have a grey wired one in mint condition if someone in the Summit, NJ area wants it. I was planning to bring it to FreeCycle but I am happier giving it to someone who wants it.
