These are not waterproof at all. I got soaking wet on a heavy sleet day and almost died due to hypothermia.

It could also be if you got Either A Lemon or a Jacket which had been sitting in the warehouse for a long time & The Taped seams had deteriorated. Plus Remember it is a 2 Layer not 3 Layer Jacket

Just Nikwax it. I feel like all my jackets aren't waterproof enough, or loose their coating quickly, unless I give 'em a coat. (I sound like an ad...)

had one of these for 2-3 years now. It's warmer than you'd think. Never found water inside of it other than sweat when using it. So far been happy with it.

The only color I like a little is the Landslide (light beige), but they only have an small and medium in that color. Might consider it for black or dark blue.
