Super unpopular take: I did not like this game. Everyone else does, apparently. It's a me issue. The combat and world exploration make me sleepy and not want to continue. I tried playing it again last week... Still doesn't do it for me. Sad, because the story, setting, characters and visuals seem to be quite excellent.

What I'd recommend is just putting it on the easiest skill level to move along much faster through combat for those that would rather strictly enjoy the story.

I finished the main story this weekend after ~60 hours and will probably put in 5-7 more going back for achievements (I don't do multiple playthroughs). I dropped the difficulty to the easiest setting so combat wouldn't be a drag, and it wasn't. The exploration, progression, combat build systems, and level designs/graphics are incredible and polished; I was shocked at how small the team was when the credits rolled. For me, the story was up and down overall. An oversimplified version is I like "small" and relatively relatable stories about characters, and at a certain point, it got a little too large and layered for my tastes. It's also tough for me to have any real immersion in a game where I'm frequently going through portals and shifting between two modes (overworld for travel between areas and regular within areas). But that's the macro; in almost every session, I kept finding myself in "just one more thing" mode, which I think is a sign of a fun game.
If you dig games like this, you probably already own it. If this would be a diversion from your normal genres like me and you don't have Game Pass, this seems like a solid price point. With the game's popularity, I think it's unlikely the price will fall much more anytime soon.
