ive broken bench welds with 65-85-lbs on the legs. Im not sure about anyone putting these in a standard 1-2inch thick wood. I do wish everyone the best and it works 1000% on in a 10ft long, 1-2inch wide (from the angle you are going in), 3 inch thick wood. I can break that crap with my bare hands tho. A house remains upright because the shape is applying even pressure in angles that make it so the whole house supports the whole house to hoist the weight, not because wood can support the weight of the whole house. DO NOT miss the middle of that 1-2 inch, get your self the most accurate stud finder you can. some wall frames are triple layer already, or whatevere, DONT hit in between those, hit the middle of the middle. Codes change and builders differ. And If i build myself it wouldnt be no dam plywood and drywall, and it would be solid rock/wood. SO your house can vary what really is behind that wall and its position. Also dual+ layered frame areas are often where we are gonna mount a door or window, so this may be of no use if its standardized.
My fams carpenters and I am me whos worked on stuff my whole life without a professional education, both of us would probably recommend you putting extra supports in your walls. Not even using the existing wall. in a basement this will be easy-ish. Go for some thick wood like you have in hoists and mount it to the pre existing floor/ceiling hoists. Remember its not just about repairing the the wall if you rip it out, when a carribeaner, band, cable or machine snaps and grazes your ear but takes out everything behind you, who cares about what it smashed.
