Please SD , ban these AI gen posts. Some are just too easy and doesn't take more the 30 mins to insert a simple script to automate it. It'll at least catch the majority low hanging ones

I wonder if there is a 16" model? I want to do some LLM work but 13 inch is too small.

If you can swing the extra dough, why not a MBP 16" 48gb/64gb M5? (I think a 16" model ASUS with 64gb VRAM would be be roughly the same cost after all is said and done.) If LLM is your primary use case, you'd probably be better off with the Mac, especially if you were planning to operate that ASUS in Windows (rather than Linux). This is at least the logic I went through when I decided to return my z13 from a few weeks back. Didn't like the kickstand feel on my lap, either. To be fair, the z13 is super impressive, but you have to love the tablet format. I just didn't. And once you decide you need a larger, true laptop...you either decide to wait--or dig deeper into your wallet.

Still wanting a 128gb deal again. At 64gb, you're limited on the ai work and paying a lot otherwise. Also, thermals are an issue for serious ai production work.

Define "serious ai product work" lol....the only thing these small models are good at is classification (classifying task types for example)....I've needed to go up to sonnet to do anything meaningful

Just checked - $3999 for 16" M5 Pro 64GB. I don't see a 16" laptop with the 395 APU but I suspect when they come out they'll still be quite a bit lower. It'll be my work laptop. On a 13" screen you just won't see many lines of code, not with my old eyes. The 40 core M5 Max has a 614GB/s memory bandwidth. Would be really nice for AI. It commands the price of a kidney, though.

I'm actually also waiting on 128gb for the idea of local LLM. So is going with the 64gb ok? Is the 128gb still a no go?

Alot can be done on a 64gb machine since 48 of those gb can be assigned as vram. You are already ahead of the a100 40gb card but i guess still under the 80gb of vram one. You can run most models before tackling dense once but even those you could probs quantize those.

I'd much rather have a Zenbook or Thinkpad laptop with the Max 395+ chip. This would be a great device for someone who wants a Windows tablet but for most people it's preferable to have a proper laptop plus an iPad rather than the z13 which is neither a great laptop or a great tablet.
