Milwaukee marketing gimmick calling this a "wood & metal set", when 16 of the 19 blades are metal.

Diablo and Milwaukee make comparable recip saw blades generally. Diablo carbide blades last longer, in my experience. These Milwaukee blades are not carbide. Their carbide bades are called AX or Torch series.

it is tougher to cut metal so wouldnt the metal blades also be able to cut wood or is that not how these work.

Metal blades can cut wood, however the teeth are too fine, will clog up quickly with sap and sawdust, overheat, and dull the blade.

I got a set. Need it mainly for pruning, but I can use the metal ones in a pinch and at this cost it's no biggie if they dull faster. Thanks OP!

For metal, the teeth are finer and cuts small chunks at a time, meant for metal. They can be used for wood, but will cut slower as the teeth are smaller. Since wood is softer, the wood blades, which have larger and less teeth, will cut out larger chunks out of wood and be a lot faster.

For pruning, you can go with cheaper blades (bulk from China or Vietnam). The cheap blades aren't particularly bad, and the price is shockingly cheap compared to these brands.

For simple home stuff, Milwaukee tools are almost always good, from my own experience (a few thousand dollars of their tools over the years).
