And for alternatives, is there something I can just put my bike on for indoor riding in the winter months that will also give me some data like distance/speed that also isn't overly expensive?
I ended up getting this. To answer my own question, it wasn't hard to put together. It took around an hour. The worst part was the left pedal for some reason. All but 2 screws were already in place, you just had to unscrew, put the parts in the right spot, and rescrew. It even has batteries for the lcd tracker that will show your time/speed/distance/calorie burn/heart rate. The heart rate and calorie burn stats are likely very off, but everything else looks pretty accurate. Looking forward to using this on rainy days and all winter!
