Picked up last month. Took it w me to July 4th weekend NY. Drove 7 hrs to get to friend. Next morning truck cranked but didn't turn over. Used this and able to get truck started to go get dinner. Didn't start again after dinner, 2nd jump and able to drive home to friends. Changed new battery next day. Glad I had this w me.

Absolutely! It should in theory start an 8.0L V10 based on the description of able to start up to a 10.0L gasoline motor.

eh, I dunno, I got the S8 a month ago and Im pretty sure its the one I have that doesn't have any boost and didnt work when I first used it. I would be nervous buying another from this brand.

Bought this at this price during the Prime Day sale last month and it works great. BUT... the nylon(?) carry bag for it ripped at the slightest nick and the fibers frayed pretty quickly, and when trying to get the cables out the fibers got all tangled with them. When I pulled the cables to break them free the spring clip within the negative connector launched into Neverland. It works fine, but needs to be handled delicately, and I'd recommend using a different carry case/bag for it from the start.

Boost or Force Start doesn't determine what size engine or vehicle it'll work on, that's strictly for under or no voltage batteries that won't start under normal jump starting.

That said, I would not let a simple feature like that keep me away from a certain brand, they make many models of jump starters and while this one doesn't have a boost feature, their lowest powered one ironically does. Overall product performance or reliability across various models would keep me away from a brand, but AstroAI is rated one of the top budget portable chargers.

Capacitor jumper are better technology. It is not like battery where anytime it will explode. It cost a little more for peace of mind.
