12mm MFT which is 24mm full frame isn't actually all that wide. for reference, cellphone has equivalent of about 12~14 mm full frame angle of view. but then again if you looking for wide, you probably wouldn't be looking at MFT.

beside, you can find a bunch of zoomed lens that is similar aperture that cover more useful FL for similar price, such as Panasonic 12-35 F2.8.

the apparel of this lens really is the small size that fitting for smaller cameras. i happen to have the entire F1.8 none pro line from olympus years ago, but i find 95% of picture i took are with zoom lens. just want to throw it out there if you starts new.

Yeah this lens has always been a bit of a tough sell. It was always a lot more expensive than many of the other f1.8/1.7 primes for m4/3 and it's not really a standout in terms of performance. This is supposedly almost half off and I still think it's way too much for the utility it provides.
