8 GB Memory - 256 GB Storage
Community Reviews
Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for note taking, reading, and media on its sharp 2.5K IPS screen with active stylus support. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, along with 2 major Android updates and 4 years of security updates, make it feel well equipped for school use. The display is described as brighter than expected at 800 nits, and the 3.5mm jack is a handy bonus. The main tradeoff is the Dimensity 6300 class processor, which trails faster rivals and may matter for heavier multitasking. It fits best as a practical classroom tablet with strong screen value.

Thanks for posting this. I had actually been looking at this two days ago and forgot it is one of the tablets I am considering for my mom. Trying to cancel the amazon order now
AI Overview
Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ and the 11-inch Lenovo Idea Tab are great budget choices for college students. The Lenovo Idea Tab shines for note-taking with a sharper 2.5K display and included pen support, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ offers smoother performance and longer software support.
...
Display and Note-Taking
Lenovo Idea Tab: Features a 2.5K high-resolution screen (2560 x 1600) that makes reading PDFs and text crisp. It natively supports an active stylus, making it ideal for handwriting lecture notes or drawing.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+: Features a lower 1920 x 1200 resolution screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It lacks active S-Pen/stylus compatibility on this budget tier, limiting its use for handwritten digital notebooks.
Performance and Software
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+: Wins on raw processing headroom, multi-tasking flow under heavy loads, and a multi-year software update promise. It also includes Samsung DeX if you want to plug it into a monitor for a desktop-style workstation.
Lenovo Idea Tab: Offers a clean, bloat-free version of Android that handles everyday browser tabs, textbook PDFs, and video lectures smoothly, though it has a shorter official update cycle.
A bit better value with significantly better processor with dimensity 8300 vs 6400

I personally like the diluted color mode (half color and half b&w)
Can't speak to FB but this does a great job streaming YouTube videos on the highest quality setting.
Set up was a little cumbersome as it tries to install temu/tiktok out of the box and it's not obvious how to stop it. As long as you get this set up for your father I think he'll do great with it.
This has a surprise bonus in the form of a 3.5mm jack, which anyone trying to stream inconspicuously will very much appreciate.
