14" stride is an excellent workout, if you're 4'8"

Stride Length Guidelines by Height

Under 5'0" to 5'3": 14 to 16 inches5'4" to 5'8": 16 to 20 inches5'9" to 6'0": 18 to 20 inchesOver 6'0": 20 inches and above

If it's too short: Forces a choppy, stair-stepper motion that can strain knees and lower backs.

Too long: Creates an awkward, overextended reach that pulls on your hip flexors.

When in doubt size up.

Back in 2018 I bought an exerpuetic aero elliptical from Amazon cost only $80. Used it only a couple times because the stride was limited length and it slanted forward. Painful on knees. I tried putting foam mats and wooden blocks under to tilt the front but it didn't make much difference and didn't feel stable to use that way. Now it's just a hat and jacket hanger lol
