The magnet is pretty weak, light gets bright. It doesn't want to close correctly to line up good without some adjusting. It's not the best light and definitely not worth $50. Hyper tough has a great 12v light as another option.
I'm a big fan of this light. The family is too and they steal it off my desk so often to use around the property I may get another. I like the three light levels and the fact the light folds back on itself so I can clip it on my belt or pocket while helping the kids. Been using it to help teach my daughter how to ride her bike at night as we have to wait for the sun to go down so it's not 100+ degrees outside.
The other day I was trying to resolve an issue using the many flashlights I have around the house. After numerous hours, using numerous flashlights, the issue was not resolved. I finally realized that none of the flashlights were "inspection" lights.
