I know this is for the Thermapen One, but... Owning a Thermapen Classic and now a Thermomaven F1 (currently at Amazon for $7 with coupon code), I can't imagine why anyone would buy this for 11X the price. My Classic has been going strong on the original battery for 10 years and it is a solid piece of kit but the build quality of the Thermomaven feels on par and they give nearly identical readings (although the Thermomaven is MUCH faster). Time will tell on the Thermomaven. You can't go wrong on the Thermapen, but $76 vs $7?

Yea the Theromaven is pretty much identical for 10x less lol.

One might even argue Thermomaven is better since it has a magnet you can stick on the fridge/grill so you can just grab it whenever.

Thanks for leaving this comment! I was unaware of Thermomaven, so saved me some $$. Can you link the the $7 model you are referring to?

We went through 3 already, 2 they replaced when the screen died. The third one is now dead and they are not willing to replace, saying we abused it.

The Thermapen One is also much faster than the Classic. I have both but they're a tough sell if something comparable is $10. Seems like they have something faster coming out in 8 days - https://www.thermoworks.com/pages/coming-soon maybe that'll lower the price of the Thermapen One.

I have the classic, and its been doing the job for about eleven years...though I have needed about four battery changes during that time (I use it about once a week). It will occasionally not turn on, so I have to jiggle it or reseat the battery. And Im going to just come out and say it...the market is ripe for an equally good alternative. Im going to be buying the thermomaven after all of the votes of confidence. Sadly, no $3 coupon in my acct yet.
