Arcteryx can be pricey which is why I only buy it on sale. They have great customer service. I had a fleece jacket that had a hole in the pocket. It may have been there when I bought it and I didn't notice it. I sent it in and they gave me credit towards a new jacket since they didn't make that one anymore.

Great deal! I've been needing a new soft shell for walking to the mailbox... Seriously though only buy when it's a sale like this. It's good stuff

My jacket from 2005 is still going strong and it's been to places. By all accounts Arc'teryx should be out of business because how good their stuff is. I don't know how they can still sell new stuff when virtually everything is indestructible.
the quality has gone down a bit since 2005, so you'll find that the new jackets won't be the same as the on you got 2 decades ago. Arc-teryx got bought by a Chinese company, and they have been the majority owner since 2019.

I love my arc teryx down hoodie. When I'm skiing and it's below zero, it goes under my ski jacket. When it's anything below freezing any other time, it's usually what I'm wearing. I was waiting for a techface to go on sale but I'll try this instead.

I've got a couple specialty Arc'teryx elements jackets because of the sealed seams and licensed Gore-Tex shell. For that I can see paying a premium, and I've had them since 2016, so close to 10 of regular wear. Although admittedly, I wear my Mountain Hardwear and Mammut elements gear much more.

However, to pay this much for a nylon polyester material is kind of retarded because there's not too much tech added value beyond the logo and double-stitching. And that is said in all honesty. You do know that Arc'teryx is now owned by the same Chinese company that owns FILA and PUMA.

So quite literally, a logo is all that separates a brand that sells for $400 in outdoor shops and a brand that sells for $40 in Walmart. The last step in the Chinese factory is an embroidery machine that dictates whether the garment gets on the container ship destined for REI or destined for Walmart.
Post a link to the Walmart version that is the equal of this, or I call BS.

99% of these jackets sold, if not 100% will be worn by people who don't need this "quality" of jacket. If you're stationed at mcmurdo, sure, you need a $400 jacket that performs like this, for the rest of "normal" people, the difference in quality between a Columbia and an Arc'teryx is completely useless. I would argue defending a $400 jacket is silly. This is a status symbol for our monkey brains, another shiny rock that is shinier than the other monkey's rock. How much of life is controlled (ruined) by low self esteem...
I live in Colorado and spend half the years in the backcountry. Sorry that you're a normie.

This is a primo ice climbing/alpine jacket. Stick to your Carhartt hoodie if you're looking for something to keep you warm as you walk across the parking lot from your f150 to the feed and supply store
But I'm just going to Home Depot and hang out in there for 2 hours with my Yeti cooler.

Don't buy.
Chinese/China owned.
99% of consumer items sold in the United States are Chinese. Go back to your basement, boomer.

Lol. Swatch owns Omega, Mido, Tissot and more. So we're to assume swatch quality is the same as Omega? They just slap the swatch name in the last step of production? Lolllll

Dude, you're showing your gullible urban youth card if you think this is an ice climbing or alpine jacket!! HAHA!!! Go back to the mall with your Arc'teryx wearing gangsta self.
