Community Reviews

This month is anchored by Like a Dragon, Infinite Wealth, a turn based RPG that keeps the series story heavy while smoothing the combat compared with Yakuza Like a Dragon. The comments praise Ichiban, call the story one of the strongest recent game narratives, and frame the wider series as a huge arc when played in order. Dead Cells also stands out as a strong value pick. The main caution is that the Like a Dragon style is not for everyone, especially if turn based RPGs are not your thing.

  • Players who want a turn-based RPG with a smoother combat system, because Infinite Wealth keeps the series in RPG form while refining the feel.

  • Fans following the series for its story arc, because playing the games in order builds a huge connected narrative.

  • Players who loved the earlier entry's story, because Infinite Wealth continues the same character-driven appeal and drew instant-buy reactions.

  • Players who want Dead Cells in a strong multi-game bundle, because it was singled out as a standout title in an otherwise incredible lineup.

  • Players who found the earlier entry dull, because Infinite Wealth still uses the same turn-based structure.

  • Players who dislike turn-based RPGs, because the Like a Dragon subseries is straight-up RPG combat instead of beat 'em up action.

  • Players who want the series' brawler-style combat, because the Like a Dragon games replaced it with turn-based battles.

I believe the answer is yes. It's still a turn based rpg. I really enjoyed Yakuza Like a Dragon so this is an easy buy for me.
Same, I loved Ichiban. The story is as good as an anime. Good month finally!

Is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth similar to Yakuza Like a Dragon? Because I got Yakuza Like a Dragon on a prior deal, never having played games from that series.... and it's one of the most boring games I've ever played in my life. I rarely ever uninstall a game before finishing it, but I definitely did it with that game like 3 days after I installed it. I'm not sure if the "Like a Dragon" was a one time thing they did with the gameplay. The gameplay was so dull.
The other games in the series are beat em ups. The "Like a Dragon" games are strait up RPGs. They changed the style for them, and it's not for everyone for sure. I personally LOVE them, but if you don't like Turn Based RPGs, it's a harder sell for that sub series. ;P

You've already paid, so it's if it uses a credit you bought. It uses it as soon as you redeem one of the games.
You aren't changed until you redeem (or until the end of the month if you let it redeem for you).

For the monthly subscribers, if you redeem one of the keys early in the month do they charge you then or until end of month?
They've already charged you when you see the games.

I usually wait till the end of month to redeem so I wasn't sure if they charge earlier if you redeemed earlier so I was curious, thank you

I think you guys are confounding credits with money. You are charged before the month for a credit. You can skip a month and the credit will live until to use a month. Then billing resumes. I skip most months, I prefer FPS, puzzle, and side scrollers.

They don't and also sometimes Humble seems to get desperate at the end of the month so offers discounts (I assume) if the particular month isn't selling to meet their goals. Over the last year I've seen this at least 6 times. I've seen them go as low as $8 but you don't get the discount if you redeem before hand.

FWIW, people keep trying to spread misinformation (I'm sure by accident but still) however this is straight off of Humble's website.

"The auto-billing date is the last Tuesday of every month if you have a non-gift plan activated."

"Humble Choice reveals a new set of games on the first Tuesday of every month at 10 am PT.
That means you can see what games are available each month before the auto-billing date, which is the last Tuesday of the month."

There is nothing to "credit" so I do not know why that word keeps getting incorrectly thrown around.

Personally I think you are confusing the prior month's charge with a preemptive one.

How does this work. Do I need to take Humble Bundle membership to buy this bundle? Is there no way to buy without membership?

You can buy the humble choice bundle, redeem the codes and then just cancel the subscription immediately after.
