Good find. The adapter would be a good option for desktops for those that can't, or don't want to install a card internally.
Great price on the switch too
Is there a way to check if data or computer usage/spec are sent back to China?
Yes, plenty, but it depends on your level of nerd-dom. Wireshark, in my opinion, would be the gold standard, however, based on your question, you're probably not that technically savvy, and that's okay, we don't all need to be nerds. You should be able to log in to your default modem/gateway that brings the internet into your home. From there, you might be able to see traffic based on model.
I wonder if the chipset's drivers are built into Windows 11. If they are, this would be very handy for rebuilding PCs that either the Wi-Fi drivers aren't in Windows 11 setup (allowing for easy Windows Updates to then install the built-in Wi-Fi's drivers) or providing an Ethernet-only PC, and updating all the drivers before putting it into service.
This is of course more of an IT guy thing, but this would of course be a useful adapter for people who just need to add Wi-Fi to a PC.
Edit: Unfortunately, it's a Realtek 8832BU chipset, which is not built into Window 11 setup, so you'd need to load the drivers manually to use it.

Curious to know if UGreen still integrates the drivers for this AX1800 WiFi adapter on a separate flash partition on this adapter. It was a lousy implementation on UGreen's part b/c when they initially launched this adapter (in a different colorway), over time, the partition becomes corrupted, making those drivers irretrievable. Ask me how I know...
