I agree with the razors getting better closeness take, but these clippers don't ever give me razor burn, don't slice my face up, and I've never gotten bumps and ingrown hairs from them while I still get a close to baby's butt smooth shave.

I use regular clippers to give myself all over shave with lowest setting. Curious is this would be less mess? I am going not for smooth but more of look of little stubble all over basically.

I use to be a shower/shave a day guy but work more from home now. Yes, standard razors get closer but I have two of these and the benefit is that I can start with these which are pretty decent compared to foil ones or anything I found 7ish years ago. You can get your head and face started with these, then the razor in (for me the shower) doesnt get nearly as clogged up. Some of the are also more convenient when I travel. I have this one which is slightly cheaper. In the long run, I think they almost are net zero when you consider the cost of standard razors and the longevity you get from them if you use one of these first.

You'll still need to shave with clippers before using this. This works on stubble to give your head a close to bald shave that's not as good as a standard razor.
