Standard canvas type bags , cheaper than hard case I guess, and you can pack them more full than a hard case, but once I went to hard case, I definitely tossed my old canvas ones

I'm exact opposite. I love my soft luggage because it's flexible, light and better with single flap. I wish they check in size too.
