Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank GreenCrayon3641

This was a reasonably disappointing remaster: it looks and plays essentially identically to the original game, which was a classic for its time but notable for its brevity, and this new version had almost nothing added. (The one addition is the postgame ability to play harder versions of previous bosses.) The reviews for this remaster were reasonably muted on release, and it's been regularly available at a discount, as can be seen on dekudeals.com. While this current price isn't bad, it isn't the all-time low, and for a game discounted as often as this one, you can do better.

To be clear: it's a great game, with a fun offbeat sense of humor, and if you've never played this but you've enjoyed other Nintendo RPGs in the Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi franchises, odds are good you'll enjoy it. It's just not worth paying anywhere close to full price, particularly if you've owned or played it on another platform, and this particular deal doesn't strike me as worthwhile.

Agreed with everything you said, as someone who played the original SNES version. I'd say this game should be under $20 because it's not even a remake version done right, like the Resident Evil series, which deserves the retail price.

as a fan of the original, I really liked it. definitely significantly easier than the original. it wouldn't have taken much to just have a difficulty setting to make it a tad harder... just some multipliers on HP and damage of enemies. I still enjoyed it very much and doubt I'd ever re-sell it.
