The only feature missing on this model is the Auto open and close lid. Once you experience this feature, it becomes essential.

I Purchased an upgraded model (DV-1S0371-V3)
Firstly, Auto open is a must - they do this well. But If given the chance, I wouldn't buy again.

Some small gripes like the foaming vapor layer stopped working within the first month, but the Big issue is that the flush never completely gets everything out of the bowl. Its a very strong "flush" with the jet powered motor, its just a bad design that leaves behind enough to be concerned. worst part is - your timed out from flushing a second time for almost 60 seconds. annoying and really confuses visitors using the toilet.

not applicable to this model but if a visitor uses the toilet and a male doesn't use the foot sensor to lift the seat. the toilet will not auto flush. forcing them to use the control panel, I wish this was a feature that could be enabled after a standard auto open. I realize not everyone would want the feature - with pets constantly setting it off.

Too many functions in one to fail and take the toilet down with it. It sure looks clean, though.

Plumbing Contractor here: Unless you're completely remodeling your bathroom, stay way from these kinds of toilets. Any toilet that is solid all the way around and sits that close to the wall HAS to be roughed in specifically. You wont have access to the water shut off in most cases without planning it out and if you have the angle-stop outside, you're stuck running the flex line behind the toilet, hoping that you have enough clearance to begin with. You also need to have power next to your toilet, so you would need to run power if you haven't already. Stick with a regular toilet, buy a bidet seat. That way if the bidet goes out, you still have a working toilet.

I bought the same brand and real similar model.
Auto open is cool but if you have a small bathroom then the lid opens all the time even if standing a little off to the side of toilet like me at my sink next to toilet. Coming out of shower i stand in front of toilet and it opens. Once opened then might drop things in. ALso if you close it then it flushes and reopens again till you are gone.
Now the big downer: I had a $25 Walmart bidet before this and it hooked right to the water line to toilet. It squirted hard and cleaned real well because of strong pressure.
This bidet uses a small pump to squirt water and it no wear near as close of pressure as my $25 bidet.
Another downer....if you are in a hurry and about to explode then you cant run in and flip the toilet fast. You have to kick the button and wait for seat to raise as you are not supposed to lift manually.
You have to kick button a second time to go #1. Now you wait for seat to lift after lid.

It a cool looking and fancy to show off and thats about it.
Or if you are handicapped then its a must.

If you're thinking about a bidet,(and they are faaaantastic!) just try an attachment first. You can get a BioBidet for around $40 to see if you like it. It takes 15 minutes to install and they are a game changer. If you like it, fantastic! Then you can spring for something like this. But this is Slickdeals, so most people here are looking for a cheap solution first. I absolutely love bidets, but it's really tough to justify spending over $500 on a bidet...when there's a solution under $50. I have bidets in every one of my bathrooms. They're fantastic. Smilie

You can go view multiple installations of this and just look at the install instructions. Unless your current toilet is plumbed wrong to begin with, you'll be fine with the shut-off.

I have the same experience with this Deer Valley brand where the initial foaming layer of water stopped working within a couple of months and the flush never cleans the bowl in one try even though it makes an impressive vacuuming type sound. To make matters worse the bidet function itself has now started making a loud noise when activated which means it's just a matter of time before it fails.
I had installed two other toilets from different brands (Horrow and Toto) at the same time in other bathrooms which are working well.
So, I would not buy a Deer Valley brand in the future.
