Got 2 of these bags for wife and I during a sale last year (Oct-2025 $59/ea) to use as a work computer/commuter bag. Has worked out well for us so far, no signs of wear yet.

The accessories pocket is placed somewhat high (top half of the bag, right behind the North Face label) so if you have several small things, it does make the bag top/face sag pretty awkwardly when the main pockets are nearly empty. But that also pulls the bag open for you as soon as you unzip it. If you are one who likes a wide flat bottom to the bag so it stands up on it's own when set down, this bag does not have it so it is always wanting to tip over onto it's face. If those don't bother you then it's a pretty decent bag.

One of the best TNF bags out there. You'd run out of stuff, but this bag won't run out of space! Love the mesh front space.

I've owned three North Face backpacks my entire 35 years of living. First one was used and a hand me down so i don't really count it. Second one lasted me ten years all throughout highschool and college thanks to my parents (2008 Recon, back pack was fine, but the interior lining was started to fall apart near the zipper and it spread, still have it as a backup). My first actual bought North Face was the surge back in 2019 and it's still going very strong. I washed it the other day and it looks brand new besides the over stretched water bottle side pockets. Looking forward to buying my next one in 5-10 years!

About the same for me. I got mine back in about 2014. I took it traveling internationally in pretty rough conditions, and it has lasted really well. The only problem that I have is that there was a little tear on the sternum strap (it is still super strong though) and the water bottle holders have small tears in them. I really don't see a need for getting a new one for maybe another 5-10 years.

Mine is a 33l big shot model TNF01FZ. I specifically like this one since it has a pretty basic waist strap. If my shoulders get tired, I can click that strap, and it can help take some load off of my shoulders.

REI has a ton of bags, including Osprey, on sale right now because they are last season's style.

There are several posters on here that have stated correctly north base bags are very well-made. In my opinion, Max expedition backpacks, and bags are a higher quality and damage resistance. Look at their website they usually have great two for one deals.
