These 1.5V lithium AA rechargeables stand out for devices that want alkaline-like voltage, especially Xbox controllers, Blink cameras, smart locks, and other power-hungry gear. The included holder doubles as the charger, which makes charging simpler, and the batteries are reported to hold 1.5V longer than NiMH cells. Runtime can be strong, with some setups lasting weeks or months. The main cautions are sudden drop-off with little warning, compatibility limits with the charger and chemistry, and occasional dead or failing cells. A practical option if you need full-voltage AAs and can handle the charging quirks.

  • Blink camera owners, because these lithium AAs can run those cameras for long stretches and match the higher-voltage requirement.

  • Homeowners with smart locks, because they run longer than standard rechargeables and keep full power in voltage-sensitive locks.

  • Gamers using Xbox controllers, because they hold 1.5V longer and can last weeks of play without the voltage drop seen in NiMH cells.

  • Parents powering kids' toys, because the batteries are useful for devices that burn through AA cells quickly.

The battery gets hot during charging; how can it dissipate heat with such a tight enclosure?
They don't get hot at all. Have owned these for two years.

Proprietary charger fails your screwed.

I bought these July 2025 for $13 and they are still going strong. I have another similar style and haven't tried to cross the batteries/chargers, but this one definitely lasts longer than the other. I just use these for blink cameras and charge them at 5V-1A (pretty sure that is what the manual called for and made me question the charge rate claim) while I think the other called for 3A, all my generic batteries I'd rather do at 1A while I'm at home and aware of it charging just in case
I charge them with my Xtar charger. No problems.

Nitecore, XTAR, etc all make universal smart chargers. They auto detect LI and NIMh, for example, among other things. I use the same charger for my 18650 lithium batteries as my rechargeable amazon basics AAA's

my 2 cents:
I use similar (1.5V Lithium) batteries in my Quest controllers. When I get a low-battery warning for my controller, I have about 10 minutes left due to their steep voltage drop-off.
I have a different brand of these sorts of batteries (both AA and AAA from a previous deal) that have USBC charging connectors on the battery itself, and was surprised at how suddenly they fall off the cliff - like 1.5 volts to zero volts in seconds when they need recharging. Just be aware that they can run out of juice instantaneously. I use mine for mouse and keyboard, and one second everything works, and then nothing does. I don't think it's a fault, just something to keep in mind.

Except mah is a bogus unit. It only makes sense when the voltage is the same. By itself It's not unit of energy nor power Not sure why people even using it. Except to make your number look bigger. WH is it an actual unit of power.
mAh is indeed a legit measurement unit, but one measurement may matter more than the other depending on use case. Interestingly, I find that NiMh and NiCd batteries generally list mAh while lithium almost always go by mWh... Maybe because the mWh figure is visually higher number? Many electronics out there do require a minimum mAh level though to function and the benefit of lithium cells is they put out the full 1.5V that alkaline provide while NiMh only put out 1.2V which some electronics don't like or the battery will seem to wear down faster between charges.

For this SD, the price is good but the capacity is lacking...

that the thing. if you looking the battery capacity, WH is the only unit that allows you to compare, not AH, certainly not without considering the voltage.

this is like saying i have 80 in my pocket and you have 100 in your pocket.. expect you have 100 pesos and i got 80 dollars.. unit matters, and matters a lot.

a 1.5v Li battery can certainly be discharged at 1.2V with buck converter and it can providing a much higher current drawing at 1.2V. if you try to discharge a 1.2 battery at 1.5v (with things like boost converter, your will get much less current draw. AH comparison only make sense with the voltage fixed. it is completely meaningless with voltage is not fixed. otherwise you can claim two or three of you enloop somehow is much bigger than battery found on the macbook...

From the pics in the product description, it appears that the "X Box" come with a little 2-cell carrier thingy so they fit in the wireless controller properly? Probably cheaper because they're a lower mAH output, or else it's just pricing to move slow inventory because nobody bought them because they see "Specially for X Box!" and move on because they're Praystaysho! people...
I'm struggling to see the difference between these aside from a removable adapters for xbox controllers and being noticeably cheaper compared to the standard 3000mhw listings tbh, it's 4 more batteries for $4~ less?

Can anyone say how these work in Xbox controllers?
I was using NiMh rechargeable batteries and the plug and play charge kit from Xbox and both would end up dead just sitting around because the voltage dropoff happened at 75%. Switched the the 3600mah version of these and it has been a game changer (pun intended) lasts for weeks of gameplay with no issues.

Bought this set Nov of last year. Have a battery that will not charge. Indicator blinks for a while, then goes off, then comes back on after a while. Tried moving it to different slots but does the same thing. Bought a larger pack and another one did the same thing.

Using these to power onn LED strips with USB packs for glow disc golf.
