I have a half-dozen + brands and do capacity checks on all of them. The best AA are ~90%. They average 75-80%.
Almost all of the AAA are pathetic and rarely exceed 50%. Not enough room in the tiny can for chemistry AND electronics.
The second kit came with a different charger, and I think those batteries were rated 3,600mWH and they worked fine through the 2 cycle test so I deployed them. 4 of those are in Blink cameras working fine and the other 4 lasted about 3 months in my smart lock, which is similar to alkaline. While they are working fine, that "brand" also disappeared from Amazon.
My third purchase was from EBL. Those also seem to work fine, but they don't work with my Schlage lock (seems like the positive terminal is slightly larger in diameter). It seems these are slightly out of spec with standard AA cells, so this might be a unique situation but one to be aware of with these types of rechargeable AAs.
So, being a keyboard jockey here, but my time and frustration are worth more to me than potentially getting stuck with a dud, so I'm planning to stick with EBL (not for the lock) or Xtar going forward given the brands have been around for a long time.
If I had to start over (and didn't have the smart lock issue), I'd grab either the $30 EBL set (8 batteries and charger) or if still using some Nimh batteries, the $16 Xtar L4 Pro charger and the $23 set of 8 EBL batteries. While it's $9 more for this combo, the Xtar charger can refresh Nimh batteries (I have about a dozen Eneloops I still use for some low drain devices like remotes, mice and keyboards). I just bought the Xtar L4 Pro charger since my 10-year old Lacrosse BC700 seems to be on its last legs.

They work very close to the alkaline AA batteries. The lithium keeps the 1.5v at a higher rate before dropping off at the end. So the advantage of this is to power devices that uses high voltage.
In contrast, our daily rechargeable Ni-MH batteries generally keeps about a 1.2V max and drops off quicker then these. So these are better but be aware they aren't your daily rechargeable battery.
I don't know if I got lucky with the Tenavolt and they are a lot more expensive but this feels like a 'get what you pay for' scenario.
