At 299 you're getting basically a decent motherboard and cooler for free. But it's not the kinda motherboard I would personally want and nor is that cpu cooler what I would want anyways. 5800X3D is an amazing cpu that punches above its weight and can run with even some top tier GPUs. Quite frankly I doubt anybody has the kinda money to pair this with the type of GPU this can run with.

This combo is is great for anyone on an older platform that may be able to salvage the DDR4, PSU, GPU etc. Still an extremely capable CPU.

It's what should now be a sub $200 CPU, compared to the Zen 5 competition, paired with a sub $100 Asus board, and a throw away AIO. $299 would still be a rip.

I really want to upgrade to the 5800X3D (currently have 3700X) but I don't need a new mobo. This cooler looks OK and I always wanted to try water cooling but I think there are better options out there at roughly $100.
