IIRC the last time this deal came up there were a number of people that had issues with this battery. I think perhaps it had stopped charging after only a few uses but also that it had reduced battery capacity very quickly as well.

I personally have a 4ah Ultimate Output and I wouldn't buy another. It's the only battery from Kobalt that I have that has overheated on me. All of the Extended Run blue batteries I have (which is a lot) have never failed me once. My experience with the 4ah battery and the first hand reviews I read last time were enough to prevent me from jumping on this deal.

Yeah... I just pick mine up today and the battery was fully drained. I charged and it stuck at 3bars and it would not charge anymore, bummer it was at a good price and was hoping to use it on my mower... Guess I have to return it now

Just warranty the battery. They should get you a new one if you still want one

I wish I could order this regular delivery and not same-day. I'd like to get two for my mower and miter saw. Says unavailable for me.

Can you use this on older Kobalt chargers/impact wrenchs?

The Kobalt 4Ah UO battery is the only power tool batter I can think of that seems to perform worse than its standard 4Ah counterpart. It uses fewer cells, so it is more compact, but those cells are 21700. The standard 4Ah has 18650 cells, but double the number of cells in parallel, so it actually performs slightly better.

I have the 8Ah UO and have had no issue with it and would buy it again (limited use over 4 years). But there are none in the Lowes near me, and I'm not driving 30min for this - I don't really need it that badly

I bought one last week but after some research, this is the old battery 824-03. Anything with -03 is the older batteries, ultimate output OR extended run.
The new batteries which i cant remember have ever been shelved separately from the 48v line are the x24-06, -06 being the iteration, x being the amperage.
I have 2x 824-06 from the dual blade 48v mower as well as 2x 324-06 w the 48v trimmer.

I'm going to return this unopened 824-03 and wait for the -06 or whatever iteration without the usbc ports they will ship and stock, hopefully soon.
I'm wondering if theyll launch with the revamp of the 24v hand tool line anticipated to come soon.
Kobalt needs to work on their marketing and press releases.

Your mower must be old because 24v line is hard to find. The 80v line is night and day with the 24v.

I have majority 24v line, but purchased a 80v blower a few months ago. I'll never go back😆. Yes their marketing is horrible.

The date code on my battery is 0921. I'll be doing an RMA, as all the batteries at my Lowe's have the same date code.
