It's been fluctuating that price for months. Waiting for it to drop to $170 again which should be in the next couple months

Community Reviews

AirPods Pro 3 stand out for strong active noise cancellation and, for hearing support, the FDA hearing feature is described as impressive. They also work well in Apple ecosystems, with smooth use on a MacBook and setup tied to an iPhone on iOS 18 or later. The main drawbacks are weak reliability on non Apple devices, including Steam Deck and Windows 11 disconnects, plus recurring charging issues in the case. Amazon authenticity concerns and better prices at Costco or Staples also shape the value picture.

MacBook owners who want earbuds that stay connected reliably, because they work well on Apple devices while non-Apple devices can disconnect repeatedly.

People using the hearing-assistance features who have an iPhone on iOS 18 or later, because setup requires Apple software and the hearing function is described as excellent.

Listeners who want strong noise cancellation in a wireless earbud, because the active noise cancellation is described as awesome.
TheCosmoKramer
Steam Deck players who can tweak Bluetooth codecs in desktop mode, because adjusting the codec can improve connection stability.
EagerGazelle1783

People using non-Apple devices for everyday listening, because the earbuds can disconnect repeatedly on SteamOS and Windows 11.
masterz13 masterz13 FantasticVest122
Shoppers buying from marketplaces where counterfeit earbuds are a risk, because fake units have arrived even when the listing showed Amazon as seller and shipper.
FlyingSriracha smoker68x
People who want both earbuds charging evenly in the case, because one bud can fail to charge while the other reaches full battery.
dreeves14 dreeves14
Gamers who need uninterrupted wireless audio on Steam Deck, because recent SteamOS updates can drop the connection within 10 to 15 minutes.

The AirPods Pro 3 can work well on a MacBook while avoiding the disconnect problems seen on some non-Apple setups.

The AirPods Pro 3 can provide strong active noise cancellation for everyday listening.

The FDA hearing function can improve sound awareness, and setup enables syncing to Android afterward.

Buying through Costco can simplify returns and can include two years of AppleCare with membership.
LavenderField868

Amazon purchases can carry a higher risk of receiving counterfeit or open-box items, which can make returns a hassle.
Gnomeslayer FlyingSriracha smoker68x
The AirPods Pro 3 can disconnect frequently on Steam Deck and Windows 11, especially after recent SteamOS updates.
masterz13 masterz13
The AirPods Pro 3 can show charging reliability problems in the upright clamshell case, including one bud not charging.
dealbreaker00 dreeves14
The AirPods Pro 3 can have battery or charging imbalance between earbuds, such as one bud reaching full charge while the other stays low.

Common Questions (5)

Costco is a strong alternative because it has been offered around $199-$200 and can include 2 years of AppleCare, with easier returns. Amazon has also been flagged for counterfeit or open-box AirPods, so Costco is the safer buy if you have membership.
CoolSeed985 Eragorn LavenderField868 FlyingSriracha
They can have constant disconnects on Steam Deck and Windows 11 PCs, while working well on a MacBook. A codec or Bluetooth compatibility issue may be involved, so they are more reliable in Apple's ecosystem than on non-Apple devices.
masterz13 masterz13 FantasticVest122 EagerGazelle1783
Some units reportedly have charging issues where one bud does not charge properly in the upright clamshell case, or one bud ends up at 100% while the other is far lower. That makes the case worth checking carefully right away after purchase.
dealbreaker00 dreeves14 dreeves14
The price has been fluctuating for months, and one expectation is a drop to around $170 in the next couple of months. Another shopper noted Staples had the same AirPods at $169, which sets a lower reference point.
SiennaMeerkat6900 jeremyjacobsnerd
Setup requires an Apple phone on iOS 18 or later. After setup, they can sync to Android, but the behavior can get janky, so keeping an old iPhone nearby may be the most practical way to use the hearing features reliably.

With so many fakes being sold on Amazon, I wouldn't trust buying these off Amazon ever.
